This feature won't be coming to everything though full split view is only for the iPad Air 2. On top of that, iOS 9 will also have a picture-in-picture mode so you can keep a floating video window on top of other apps. The other mode is a more traditional 50:50 split that can be used with any two apps. One is 70:30 split called SlideOver, which lets you pick one of a few select apps (like Messages or Notes) that will open on the side of the screen when you slide over with a gesture. The free update will be available to everyone this fall. The developer beta is available today, with a public beta in July. And yes, that will also make make Macs better at playing games. Performance-wise, OS X El Capitan promises improvements like apps that launch up to 1.4x times faster, and Apple is bringing its low-level graphics tech "Metal" to the desktop which means Macs are about to get better at rendering graphics and editing photos and videos.
